Digitalization of 100 Educational Institutions in CHT by November: Supradip Chakma

Chittagong: Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Adviser Ambassador (retd) Supradip Chakma today announced that the government plans to digitalize 100 educational institutions in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) by November this year. “There is no alternative but development in the CHT region. The government is actively working towards ensuring quality education and livelihood development across the region,” he stated.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the adviser made these remarks while addressing the ‘Kathin Chibar Dan-2025,’ a significant Buddhist religious festival, at the Shakyamuni Buddhist Monastery in Mirpur. Supradip Chakma expressed optimism about completing the digitalization within the scheduled timeframe, mentioning that multimedia classrooms have already been established in most institutions.



The adviser underscored the necessity of quality education for sustainable development in CHT. Beyond education, he emphasized the importance of improving the quality of life for the local population, describing it as vital. He recognized the potential of the region’s youth, noting that they are performing well and can achieve greater success with adequate opportunities.



Supradip Chakma acknowledged that standard projects have yet to be implemented in the CHT. He urged officials to adopt realistic, livelihood-based schemes. He anticipated that proper initiatives for socio-economic improvement would play a crucial role in job creation and local economic stimulation.



Regarding project financing, Chakma confirmed a Taka 530 crore allocation for the CHT has been distributed among relevant parties. He mentioned that 40% of this allocation is earmarked specifically for livelihood development. The adviser concluded by emphasizing the critical need for the proper utilization of these funds.
