Dhaka:A local court has ordered Diamond World Managing Director Dilip Kumar Agarwala to be jailed following the conclusion of his two-day remand. Agarwala is implicated in a case concerning the attempted murder of Abdul Zabbar amid the July Mass Uprising in 2024.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Zakir Hossain issued the order after police presented Agarwala in court and requested his detention until the investigation is complete. Agarwala had previously been placed on a two-day remand on October 25, following an earlier four-day remand on October 21.

Detective Branch (DB) officers of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested Agarwala on October 19 in the Banani area of the city. The case against him stems from an incident on August 5, 2024, when Abdul Zabbar was shot outside the Uttara BNS Centre. Zabbar was hospitalized and received treatment until September 26, 2024. He filed the case with Uttara West Police Station on March 27, 2025.
