Dhaka: The two-day election to the Executive Council of the Dhaka Bar Association for the 2026-2027 term is set to take place on April 29 and 30. “The election schedule was declared today. Voting will occur from 9 am to 5 pm on both days, with a one-hour break from 1 pm to 2 pm,” stated Chief Election Commissioner Alhajj Md Borhan Uddin.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, candidates interested in contesting the elections can collect and submit their nomination papers from the election commission office on the second floor of the Dhaka Bar Association building. This process will be open from April 5 to 7, with the scrutiny of nomination papers set for April 8.
The list of eligible candidates will be available on April 9. Candidates wishing to withdraw their nominations have until April 12, from 10 am to 4 pm, to do so. The final list of candidates will be published later that day at 4:30 pm.
A meeting for the introduction of candidates is scheduled to be held at 2 pm on April 26, providing an opportunity for the candidates to present themselves before the election.
