Dhaka: The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted that Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, and Sylhet divisions will experience moderately heavy to heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours starting from 9:00 am on Friday. The forecast indicates that various areas will face significant precipitation.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the BMD bulletin suggests that light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds and lightning flashes, are anticipated at numerous places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. There is also a possibility of rain at some locations in Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Chattogram divisions, while a few showers may occur in Khulna and Barishal divisions.
The bulletin further mentions that day temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged, whereas night temperatures might see a slight increase across the country. Concurrently, a mild heatwave is ongoing in Khulna, Jashore, Satkhira, and Bagerhat districts and may continue over the coming days.
The report also highlights that the highest rainfall recorded in the preceding 24 hours until 6:00 am on Friday was in Rangpur, with a measurement of 130mm.
