Cumilla: BNP standing committee member and Cumilla-1 lawmaker Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain emphasized that Bangladesh is poised to experience significant development and progress over the next five years under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. He underscored the importance of sincerity, efficiency, and coordinated efforts by government officials in implementing the government’s development programs.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Mosharraf made these remarks at a view-exchange meeting held with officials from various departments of the local administration at the Meghna Upazila Parishad auditorium in Cumilla, where he served as the chief guest. He highlighted that Prime Minister Rahman has made several important and timely decisions for the welfare of the people shortly after taking office.
These initiatives include the introduction of family cards, farmers’ cards, and e-health cards, as well as measures to raise awareness about traffic signals, conserve electricity, and improve administrative discipline. Additionally, the lawmaker mentioned efforts to restrain the use of government vehicles and fuel and the decision not to allow duty-free vehicles and government plots for members of parliament as evidence of the government’s commitment to accountability in state governance.
He noted that these steps have already been positively received by the public. Furthermore, Dr. Mosharraf stated that the government is working with integrated planning and modern thinking to create a developed, stable, and prosperous Bangladesh.
BNP National Executive Committee member Advocate Dr. Khandaker Maruf Hossain also spoke at the meeting, which was chaired by Meghna Upazila Executive Officer Mousumi Akhter. Officials from various departments of the upazila administration were in attendance.
