Dengue Toll Rises in Khulna With One More Death and 140 New Cases

Khulna:One person has died and 140 new dengue patients have been admitted to various hospitals across the Khulna division over the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of dengue-related cases this year to 15,761.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, of the newly-hospitalised patients, 101 were admitted to government hospitals and 39 to private hospitals. The health department's latest report, issued on October 9, confirms that the dengue death toll this year has now reached 60.

Since the beginning of the year, 15,761 individuals have contracted the mosquito-borne disease in the division. Out of these, 14,111 have recovered and returned home, while 1,198 patients are still receiving treatment in various hospitals. Additionally, 392 patients have been referred to other facilities for advanced care.

Khulna district has reported the highest number of infections in the division, with 6,075 cases identified. Khulna Medical College and Hospital alone has recorded 3,057 of these cases.
