Dengue Outbreak Claims Two Lives, Hospitalizes Over 1,000 in 24 Hours

Dhaka: Two individuals have succumbed to dengue, and a total of 1,056 have been hospitalized due to infection within the last 24 hours, as reported by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, of the newly hospitalized patients, 435 are from Dhaka Division, 48 from Mymensingh Division, 103 from Chattogram Division, 199 from Khulna Division, 144 from Barishal Division, 73 from Rajshahi, 47 from Rangpur Division, and seven from Sylhet Division. This brings the cumulative number of hospitalized dengue cases to 50,276 this year. The death toll now stands at 143 with the recent fatalities.

In the same 24-hour period, 1,056 patients have successfully recovered and been discharged. To date, 46,699 individuals have recuperated from dengue after receiving hospital treatment this year.

Last year, dengue affected a total of 102,861 people, with 413 fatalities recorded due to the disease.
