Dhaka:Health officials have reported that 2,158 new cases of dengue have been recorded in Bangladesh, resulting in the deaths of at least six individuals within the last 24 hours.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) provided a breakdown of the hospitalizations: 227 patients in Barishal division, 345 in Chattogram division, 356 in Dhaka division, 197 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and 311 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas. Additionally, 329 cases were reported in Khulna division, 132 in Mymensingh division, 176 in Rajshahi division, 73 in Rangpur division, and 12 in Sylhet division.
This year, the dengue outbreak in Bangladesh has resulted in 225 deaths and affected 73,694 people so far. In comparison, last year, dengue claimed 413 lives and afflicted 102,861 people. The year 2024 saw 575 deaths and 101,214 cases of the disease.
