Dhaka: Four people succumbed to dengue fever while 1,314 new patients were admitted to hospitals nationwide in the 24 hours preceding 8:00am on Monday. This has brought the cumulative dengue death toll to 121 for the year, as reported by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to United News of Bangladesh, the most recent fatalities occurred in the Dhaka and Khulna divisions, as well as in the Dhaka South City Corporation area. The health crisis has seen a significant number of hospital admissions since the beginning of the year. From January 1, a total of 43,904 individuals have been hospitalised due to dengue-related complications.
The DGHS further reported that out of the total admitted patients, 40,709 have successfully recovered and been discharged. This data underscores the ongoing struggle against the dengue outbreak in the country, highlighting the urgent need for continued public health efforts.
