Chattogram: A 'Dengue Management Cell' was established at the Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) General Hospital today to provide advanced medical care to dengue patients and implement preventive measures to address the dengue outbreak. Inaugurating the cell as chief guest, CCC Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain emphasized the corporation's commitment to preventing fatalities and enhancing treatment facilities.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Mayor Hossain highlighted that historical data indicates dengue outbreaks tend to intensify in September and October. In response, the CCC has ramped up mosquito eradication efforts, cleanliness initiatives, and public awareness campaigns, particularly during these months. Regular operations are also being conducted to destroy mosquito larvae.
Mayor Hossain called for cooperation from all sectors, including city residents, to address the outbreak effectively. After visiting various hospitals in the city, he mentioned that upon his return from Canada, he visited the dengue ward at Chattogram Medical College Hospital. Essential instructions have been provided to doctors to further improve patient care, with an emphasis on diligence and empathy.
The newly established Dengue Management Cell at CCC General Hospital currently has 15 beds designated for men, women, and children. Mayor Hossain indicated that the number of beds will be increased if necessary to accommodate more patients.
