Dengue Death Toll Reaches 271 as 9 More Succumb in a Day

Dhaka:Nine additional deaths from dengue have been reported, with 1,902 new patients admitted to hospitals across the country within the 24-hour period ending at 8:00 am on Monday.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the cumulative number of dengue-related deaths this year has now reached 271, as reported by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The latest fatalities include three individuals from Dhaka North City Corporation, two from Barishal division, and one each from Chattogram, Khulna, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions.

Of the deaths recorded this year, 47.9 percent were men and 52.1 percent were women. Since January 1, a total of 88,360 dengue patients have been hospitalized nationwide, with 82,335 having recovered.

The DGHS report indicates that 74 people have died in Dhaka South City Corporation, 52 in Khulna division, 33 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 25 in Chattogram division, 23 in Mymensingh division, 22 in Barishal division, 18 in Rajshahi division, 16 in Dhaka division, six in Rangpur, and two in Sylhet division.
