Dengue Death Toll Reaches 164 as Seven More Die in 24 Hours

Dhaka: Seven more people have succumbed to dengue in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of dengue-related deaths this year to 164. A total of 1,593 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country during the same period.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported that among the newly admitted patients, 696 were in Dhaka Division, 82 in Mymensingh Division, 165 in Chattogram Division, 290 in Khulna Division, 159 in Barishal Division, 137 in Rajshahi Division, 65 in Rangpur Division, and nine in Sylhet Division. In the past 24 hours, 1,566 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals after recovering.

So far this year, 55,163 people have been hospitalized with dengue across the country, with 50,941 of them recovering and being discharged. Last year, a total of 102,861 people were infected with dengue, resulting in 413 deaths.
