Dengue Claims Eight More Lives, 994 New Hospitalisations Reported.

Dhaka: At least eight dengue patients died and 994 new patients were admitted to different hospitals in the country during the past 24 hours till this morning.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported that during the period, 119 dengue patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 65 in Chattogram, 238 in Dhaka division, 236 in Dhaka North city, and 148 in Dhaka South. Additionally, 74 were admitted in Khulna, 61 in Rajshahi, 46 in Mymensingh, one in Sylhet, and six in Rangpur division.

The DGHS data revealed that with these new deaths, the total number of dengue-related fatalities has risen to 407, while the total number of cases has reached 78,595. This year’s statistics are part of an ongoing battle against dengue, a mosquito-borne viral disease that has significantly impacted the country.
