Deal Inked with Japanese Firm to Improve Cox’s Bazar Fish Landing Centre

Tokyo: An agreement was signed between Bangladesh Fisheries Development Corporation (BFDC) and JDC-Konoike Joint Venture to implement the ‘Project for Improvement of Fish Landing Center of BFDC in Cox’s Bazar District’. The agreement signing ceremony was held at the Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo, Japan today. BFDC Chairman Suraiya Akhtar Jahan signed the agreement on behalf of the Bangladesh government, according to an official release.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the project is being implemented with the grant assistance of the Japanese government. During the signing ceremony, Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan Md Daud Ali expressed gratitude to the Japanese government for its ongoing support and cooperation in the development of Bangladesh.



The ambassador highlighted Japan’s role as the largest development partner of Bangladesh, noting that cooperation is expanding in fields such as trade, commerce, agriculture, infrastructure, communication, health, education, and human resource development. He also expressed hope for further strengthening of friendly relations between the two countries in the future.
