DC Releases Fish Fry into Meghna to Boost Local Biodiversity

Narsingdi: To help restore aquatic ecological balance and enhance the production of indigenous fish species, the Rotary Club of Narsingdi organized a fish fry release event in the Meghna River on Saturday morning. Narsingdi District Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Anwar Hossain attended as the chief guest and released a large number of fish fry into the river at 10 am.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, speaking at the event, DC Anwar Hossain emphasized the importance of protecting aquatic biodiversity, stating, "Rivers and waterways are the lifeblood of our nation. Protecting aquatic biodiversity is our moral duty." He further acknowledged that the Rotary Club's initiative will not only boost fish production but also support the livelihoods of local fishermen.

Following the release of the fry, the District Commissioner visited the Karimpur Union Parishad in Narsingdi Sadar Upazila. During his visit, he reviewed ongoing development activities and instructed officials to ensure the prompt and effective delivery of government services.
