Dhaka: The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested a suspected drug trader with 83 kilograms of cannabis and seized a private car in the city's Demra area yesterday.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DB team under Lalbagh Division arrested Md Hannan, 35, during a drive. It said a team of the Organized Crime and Car Theft Prevention Unit conducted the drive in Sanarpar area under Demra Police Station at around 7:10 pm on September 17.
During the drive, police arrested Hannan and recovered 83 kilograms of cannabis and seized a private car from his possession, the DMP said. A case has been filed against the arrested person with Demra Police Station and produced him before a court, it added.
