DB inspector Arafat on 3-day remand in attempt to murder case

A court here today placed detective branch (DB) of police inspector Arafat Hossain on three-day remand in a case lodged for allegedly attempting to kill one Robiul Sunny. Dhaka Judicial Magistrate Rabeya Begum passed the order as police produced Arafat before the court and pleaded to place him on seven-day remand in the case. Sunny filed the case against 30 including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina on September 11 with the Ashulia Police Station. The other prominent accused in the case are Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel. Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) today arrested Arafat for his alleged role in piling up bodies of protesters on a van and later burning those to conceal evidences in Ashulia during the recent anti-discrimination student movement.
