Dhaka: The Election Commission (EC) today included Jamaat-e-Islami’s electoral symbol ‘Daripalla’ (balance scale) on its website. This development marks a significant update in the electoral representation of the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami as the ‘Daripalla’ symbol is now officially visible on the EC platform.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Akhtar Ahmed, Senior Secretary of the EC Secretariat, confirmed that ‘Daripalla’ has been added as the symbol next to the registered party Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami on the EC website today. This inclusion follows the EC’s recent efforts to update and maintain transparency in the electoral process.
The Election Commission had previously issued a gazette on July 3, reinstating the registration of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, along with its electoral symbol – Daripalla (balance scale). This reinstatement and subsequent inclusion on the website are crucial for the party’s participation in upcoming elections, ensuring that their symbol is recognized and accessible to the public.
