Chattogram:Maritime ports in Bangladesh have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal No. 3 as the very severe cyclonic storm "Arnab" continues to affect weather conditions over the Bay of Bengal.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Cyclone Arnab crossed the coast of Andhra Pradesh, India, early today and is currently positioned over Andhra Pradesh and adjoining coastal areas. The storm is expected to move northwestwards and gradually weaken.

Under the influence of Cyclone Arnab, deep convection is occurring over the North Bay. This has resulted in gusty and squally weather that may impact the maritime ports, the North Bay, and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh. As a precaution, the maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been instructed to maintain local cautionary signal No. 3.

Additionally, all fishing boats and trawlers operating in the North Bay have been advised to stay close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
