Chattogram: The Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) Day has been celebrated today with full of exuberance on the campus. To mark the day, the university authorities held various programmes.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a colourful procession led by CVASU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman was brought out on the campus in the morning. Teachers, students, officials, employees, and alumni joined the procession. Following the procession, the Vice-Chancellor cut a cake in front of the university’s administrative building.
At 10 a.m., the ‘Shikshabarsh Samarambh’ program took place at the CVASU Auditorium for students enrolled under the 2024-2025 academic year. Education Adviser Prof. Dr. Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar virtually addressed the event as the chief guest, while Bangladesh Open University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam spoke at the inaugural function.
Prof. Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar advised freshers to enjoy university life responsibly, emphasizing the dedication of parents in raising their children with the hope of a bright future. He encouraged students to strive to fulfill their parents’ dreams, study attentively, and be guided by their conscience.
The function was presided over by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Rashedul Alam, CVASU Student Welfare Director. Among others who addressed the function were CVASU founding Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nitish Chandra Debnath, former Principal Secretary Md. Abdul Karim, and Habiganj Agricultural University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syed Sayem Uddin Ahmed.
