Dhaka: The Cute 1st Division Men’s Handball League was inaugurated at the Bandarban district stadium, marking the commencement of an exciting sports event in the region. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Shamim Ara Rini, the Deputy Commissioner of Bandarban hill district and president of the Bandarban district sports association, who served as the chief guest.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event also saw the presence of key figures such as Sayeed Ahmed, the Cute district league handball league coordinator and joint member secretary of the Bangladesh Handball Federation technical committee, along with Thuising Pru Lubu, member secretary of the organizing committee. The ceremony began with a rally, inaugurated by the additional deputy commissioner of Bandarban district, Md Hasan.
On the opening day of the league, Little Star Club secured a decisive victory over Team One with a score of 37-16. The league features a total of eight teams, divided into two groups, competing in this event organized by the Bangladesh Handball Federation and sponsored by Moushumi Industries Limited.
The teams have been grouped as follows: Group A consists of Little Star Club, Team One, Young Staar Jubo Sangha, and Kalghata GTL Sports Club, while Group B includes Jatidut Jubo Sangha, Bandarban Soccer Sports Club, Mro Residential High School, and Ujanipara Boys Club.
