Current coalition for political and government stability: DPM Singh

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakashman Singh has asserted that the two biggest parties in the parliament formed the incumbent government for political and government stability.

At a press conference organized by Nepal Press Union, Kailali branch at Dhangadi today, DPM Singh emphasized the importance of the current coalition in light of the political instability caused by frequent changes in the government in the past.

According to him, the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) had to come together to form the government to give an outlet to the difficult situations emanating from the repeated changes in the government in the past.

The DPM noted, “The frequent changes in the government in the past hampered development works, peace and security situation as well as economic activities which further led people to frustration. That is why we formed the incumbent government inking seven-point agreement and the government is delivering as per the agreement.”

Furthermore, he shared that the
government was delivering on revitalizing national economy adversely affected by earthquake and COVID-19 pandemic.

He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment towards implementation of constitution, expediting developmental endeavors as per the essence of the constitution and expectations of the citizens.

Responding to the queries posed by media persons on embezzlement of cooperative’s saving fund, the DPM clarified that the government would take action based on the report of the parliamentary investigation committee.

He explained, “The committee has submitted its report yesterday. The report has furnished recommendations for the government. The incumbent government will take forward actions after thoroughly reviewing the recommendations of the report.”

DPM Singh reassured of government’s action in addressing this issue to return the depositors’ money and prosecute the culprits of this scam.
