Cumilla BNP Expresses Gratitude to Tarique Rahman, Holds Prayer for Khaleda Zia’s Recovery

Cumilla: BNP and affiliated bodies in the Cumilla-6 (Sadar) constituency today held a meeting to express their gratitude to party Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman for his return home after enduring years of political persecution. The gathering also included a doa mahfil for the speedy recovery of Begum Khaleda Zia.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, BNP Chairperson’s Adviser and former Member of Parliament Haji Amin-ur-Rashid Yasin attended the event as the chief guest. During his address, Yasin praised Tarique Rahman’s commitment to the party, stating that Rahman would feel the party’s pain more deeply than anyone else. He urged Rahman to participate in the upcoming election from the Cumilla-6 constituency, assuring that the local people were ready to secure his victory by a significant margin.



Yasin emphasized his dedication to the people of Cumilla, stating, “I do politics for the soil and the people of Cumilla. Politics is neither my profession nor a means of earning money.” He reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the ideals of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, with the aim of building a prosperous Cumilla.



The meeting was chaired by former Sadar South Upazila BNP President S A Bari Selim, and other notable attendees included Adarsha Sadar Upazila BNP President Rezaul Qayyum, former joint convener of Cumilla Metropolitan BNP Ataur Rahman Chhuti, Shahidullah Ratan, Mahbubur Rahman Dulal, and Adarsha Sadar Upazila BNP General Secretary Shafiul Alam Raihan.
