Dhaka: Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury asserted that a complete understanding of any nation can be derived from its cultural practices, emphasizing that culture is the essence of a nation's identity. "Bangla culture is far richer than that of many nations across the world. If we can properly present this enriched heritage, we will be able to establish ourselves as one of the finest nations in the global arena," he stated.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the remarks were made during a cultural program held at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy to mark the Bengali New Year celebrations. The event was jointly organized by the academy and Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha (JASAS).
The Minister highlighted the government's commitment to expanding cultural practices into rural areas across the country. To achieve this, the Ministry of Cultural Affairs has been implementing programs aimed at encouraging cultural engagement among students at educational institutions. He further noted that diversity is the beauty of a democratic society and called for unity within this diversity.
The event was presided over by JASAS central committee convener Helal Khan, with State Minister for Cultural Affairs Ali Newaz Mahmud Khaiyam attending as a special guest.
