Chattogram: A team of Chattagram CID has arrested the main accused of the sensational Bohaddarhat Gulzar Hotel murder case from the city’s Khulshi area yesterday.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the CID team, acting on secret information, raided the Khulshi area and successfully apprehended Md Forhad Hossain. Prior attempts to capture him involved raids in various parts of Chattogram city and his ancestral home in Bhola, but these efforts were initially unsuccessful.
During preliminary interrogation, Forhad confessed to his involvement in the murder, as stated by the CID police. The investigation revealed that Forhad had rented a room at Bohaddarhat Gulzar Hotel with Bibi Kulsum, pretending to be her husband, on October 19 for a one-day stay. When the check-out time elapsed, hotel staff discovered the room locked from the outside. Upon breaking open the door, they found Kulsum’s body in the bathroom, with her limbs bound by rope and her neck tied with her scarf.
The hotel authorities promptly re
ported the incident to the police, prompting a CID crime scene team to arrive and commence an investigation. After identifying the victim, they transported the body to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for an autopsy.
Md Abdus Sattar, Kulsum’s father, subsequently registered a case with Chandgaon Thana related to the incident.
