Cox's Bazar: Police today arrested 19 Union Parishad (UP) members supposed to be Awami-affiliation from a residential hotel at Kolatoli of the district town on charge of holding "secret meeting". Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Faizul Azim Noman said they arrested the UP members from the hall-room of the hotel. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the operation was based on information that Awami League-affiliated UP members were conducting a secret meeting. The identities of the detainees are being verified, OC Faizul said. The incident has raised concerns regarding the nature and purpose of the meeting, prompting the police to take swift action in detaining the individuals involved.
