Dhaka:A Dhaka court has prohibited two candidates, recommended for the 38th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) administration and foreign affairs cadres, from leaving the country amid allegations of using fake certificates to obtain government jobs.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Judge Md Shahjahan Kabir of the Metropolitan Senior Special Judge's Court issued the travel ban following an application by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The individuals involved are Sanjay Das, recommended for the administration cadre, and Abu Sahel Md Musa, recommended for the foreign affairs cadre. The ACC alleges that the two candidates used forged certificates to deceive the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) and secure their cadre positions.

Both Sanjay Das and Abu Sahel Md Musa are also accused of receiving government salaries and allowances after assuming their respective posts. Two separate cases concerning the alleged offences have been filed with the ACC's Dhaka-1 Integrated District Office and are currently under investigation.

The ACC requested the travel ban after obtaining information suggesting that the accused might attempt to leave the country to avoid the ongoing investigation. The court has since ordered restrictions on their foreign travel.
