Rajbari: A couple was killed in a motorcycle accident on the Dhaka-Khulna highway under Goalanda upazila of Rajbari district last night. The deceased were identified as Sanjoy Mondal and his wife Shraboni Bhaduri.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Shamim Sheikh, officer-in-charge (OC) of the Highway Police Station, reported that the accident occurred around 9:30 pm. The motorcyclist lost control in front of Goalanda Government Technical School and College while returning from Dhaka, resulting in Shraboni’s death on the spot.
Locals rescued Sanjoy in critical condition and took him to Goalanda Upazila Health Complex. He later succumbed to his injuries on the way to Faridpur Medical College and Hospital as his condition worsened.
Dr. Kaushik Kumar Das of the Upazila Health Complex noted that Sanjoy suffered severe head injuries and excessive bleeding, which left his condition critical. Goalanda police confirmed that legal procedures are underway.
