Karnali: Chief Minister of Karnali Province Raj Kumar Sharma said corruption should be controlled to maintain good-governance.
Saying that the nature of corruption has become more complex with the development of IT sector, Sharma said the State should be more cautious to curb corruption.
He said that role of all was vital to control corruption in the society and expressed concerns to the rising trend of anomaly in the local level.
Compared to the past, the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Office in Surkhet has received more number of complaints from the districts of Karnali Province in the recent years.
The CIAA Surkhet Office has received a total of 763 complaints in the first five months of the current fiscal year while the number of complaints was around 2,100 in the last fiscal year.
District-wise, the number complaints registered in the CIAA Surkhet Office from Surkhet district is 152 while the issues of anomalies from the district of Rukum Purba are received just 15.
Two c
ases of Karnali Province have been registered in Special Court.
Most of the complaints are related to the local government.
Acting Chief of CIAA Surkhet Office Bheshraj Rijal said that more complaints are received about education, health care and local levels. The cases are related to delay in timely completion of the project, substandard performance and irregularity in the development construction works.
