Jamuna: Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus today highlighted the emergence of conspiracies by defeated forces, signaling a potential threat to political unity. 'We took programme to bring all political parties together to remember the past on the first anniversary of the July mass uprising to make visible the unity among ourselves against fascism. But as soon as a year passes, signs of various conspiracies of the defeated forces are visible,' said Dr Yunus during a meeting with leaders of 13 political parties and alliances at his official residence.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Chief Adviser urged political leaders to strengthen their unity against fascism, despite existing differences and rivalries. He warned that any lack of cohesion could be exploited by fascist forces. The meeting participants agreed on the necessity of maintaining political and mass unity to counter these threats.
During the discussion, leaders called on the Chief Adviser to enforce stricter measures for maintaining law and order. They also expressed their support for ongoing reform, trial, and electoral processes, and requested the organization of more regular all-party meetings to prepare for upcoming elections and resist fascism.
Notable participants in the meeting included Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) General Secretary Ruhin Hossain Prince, Gano Forum General Secretary Dr. Mizanur Rahman, and leaders from various other political parties such as the Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, and Gano Sanghati Andolon. The collaboration aims to fortify political solidarity in the face of emerging challenges.
