Dhaka: The Ministry of Education has announced a three-month suspension on the formation of managing committees in MPO-listed educational institutions. This suspension was formalized through a letter issued on Saturday, which was signed by Syed A. Z Morshed Ali, Deputy Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the suspension aligns with a High Court order that stayed the ministry's September 8 circular concerning ad-hoc and regular committee formation under the Governing Body and Managing Committee Regulations, 2024. This decision affects the administration of educational institutions whose ad-hoc committees have expired.
During the suspension period, these institutions will be temporarily managed by Upazila Nirbahi Officers at the upazila level and Deputy Commissioners or their authorised representatives at the district level. This measure is in accordance with Article 69 of the regulations.
