Cumilla: Police recovered the body of a 13-year-old boy, who went missing on Friday, from a jungle in Kotbari area of Cumilla district on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Opritom, a class VII student of Border Guard Public School and the only son of KM Firoz Shahriar and Dr. Nahida Begum, an associate professor of the Bangla Department at Comilla University.
According to United News of Bangladesh, police stated that Opritom had been missing since he left his house in the Kotbari area under Sadar Dakshin thana around 3:30 pm on Friday. He took his mother's iPhone to take photographs with friends. His father filed a general diary with Sadar Dakshin Police Station on Friday night after he did not return home.
Police reviewed CCTV footage from areas around Opritom's last known location and Comilla University, which led them to discover his body in a forest in the Kotbari area. Rakibul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Dakshin Model Police Station, reported that the boy had severe injury marks on his head. The incident is currently under investigation.
