Rajshahi: The Collegiate School emerged as the champion in the Inter-school debate competition held on Saturday. The champion team claimed victory over Rajshahi University School in the final round of the competition, which was centered around the theme “Trained Youth Society is the main weapon to mitigate disasters”.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was organized by the Rajshahi City unit of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) under its ‘Pilot Programmatic Partnership Project (PPPP)’. The competition took place at the conference hall of City Bhaban to commemorate International Disaster Mitigation Day 2024.
Muhammad Nahian from Collegiate School was recognized as the best debater in the competition. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. ABM Sharif Uddin, Chief Executive Officer of Rajshahi City Corporation, who attended as the chief guest, with Prof Aminul Islam, Students Adviser at Rajshahi University, presiding over the event.

d Mamun, BDRCS Co-curricular Manager Kazi Rashed Shimul, Unit Level Officer Mirja Shamim Ahsan, and members from the Rajshahi University Debating Forum, including Mahadi Hassan, Habibul Hassan Shanta, and Nazifa Tasnim, were also present. The guests awarded crests and certificates to both the champion and runner-up teams.
A total of 24 teams from various schools participated in the competition, showcasing their debating skills and contributing to the event’s success.
