Dhaka: The council of advisers today approved in principle the "Code of Criminal Procedure (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 2025". The council made the approval at its 35th meeting held at the Chief Adviser's Office (CAO) with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in the chair.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the meeting, the council also endorsed the "Local Government (City Corporation) (Amendment) Ordinance 2025" and the draft of the "Upazila Parishad (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025". In addition, the draft of the "Local Government (Municipality) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025" and the draft of the "Local Government (Union Parishad) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025" were approved at the meeting, a Cabinet Division press release stated.
Furthermore, the council of advisers approved the proposal for ratification of ILO Conventions 155 and 187 on Occupational Health and Safety and ILO Convention 190 on the prevention of violence and harassment at the workplace.
