Dhaka: The eight-year-old rape victim from Magura, who was receiving treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka, passed away at 1 pm today, as confirmed by the Inter Service Public Relations Directorate (ISPR).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the ISPR issued a statement expressing deep sorrow over the tragic incident. It reported that despite the use of advanced medical treatment facilities and the dedicated efforts of specialist doctors at CMH, the child's life could not be saved. The statement detailed that the child suffered three cardiac arrests in the morning. While her condition was stabilized twice, she could not be revived after the third cardiac arrest.
The young girl was admitted to the military hospital on March 8, arriving in a critical state due to severe injuries from the assault. Despite the medical team's relentless efforts, her condition deteriorated, leading to her untimely demise.
The Bangladesh Army extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, assuring them of continued support during this difficult time. The Army also expressed a wish for eternal peace for the departed soul, reaffirming their commitment to stand by the family in their hour of need.
