Rangpur: Vice-chancellor (VC) of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali has announced that the university’s ongoing classroom crisis will be resolved soon with the completion of the vertical expansion of two academic buildings. The announcement was made during a ceremony where he inaugurated the newly constructed fifth-floor classroom unit of Academic Building-4 by cutting a ribbon and unveiling a plaque.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the new classrooms, equipped with modern facilities, have been allocated for students from the Department of Chemistry, Department of Physics, and Department of Statistics. This development is expected to significantly alleviate the university’s long-standing classroom shortage and enhance the efficiency of academic activities.
The Vice-chancellor emphasized that the current construction work involves expanding the fourth to sixth floors of two academic buildings. Completion of this project is anticipated to resolve the classroom crisis across all 22 departments of the university. The initiative aims to bring more dynamism to the university’s academic operations.
Prominent figures such as Proctor Dr Md Ferdous Rahman, Head of the Department of Physics Professor Dr Md Kamruzzaman, Head of the Department of Chemistry Dr Md Abdul Latif, and Head of the Department of Statistics Dr Md Siddiqur Rahman attended the inauguration, alongside other teachers and officials from various departments.
