CJ Administers Oath to Justice Habibul Gani for Appellate Division

Dhaka: Chief Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury today administered the oath to newly appointed judge of the Appellate Division, Justice Md Habibul Gani. The oath-taking ceremony was conducted by Registrar General Mohammad Habibur Rahman Siddiquee and took place at the Supreme Court Judges' Lounge this morning.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir appointed Justice Md Habibul Gani of the High Court Division as a judge of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court on August 27. The President made the appointment in accordance with Article 95(1) of the Constitution, with the appointment taking effect upon the oath of office, as stated in a gazette notification issued by the Law and Justice Division.

Justice Md Habibul Gani, born on May 31, 1962, obtained his MSS and LLB degrees from the University of Chittagong. He became an advocate of the High Court Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court on April 11, 1992. Justice Gani was elevated to the position of Additional Judge of the High Court Division on April 18, 2010, and was appointed as a Judge of the same Division on April 15, 2012.
