Chattogram: Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Chattogram City Unit, in cooperation with Qatar Red Crescent, has distributed sacrificial meat among hundreds of people in the city.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meat distribution programme was held among people of different professions and social classes at the Public Library premises near Laldighi in the city on Sunday. City Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain attended the function as the chief guest.
Dr. Hossain emphasized the importance of sacrifice, stating, “Sacrifice teaches us about the value of giving. The volunteers of the Red Crescent are making the ultimate sacrifice selflessly, supporting those in need and standing by the helpless people-this is the true example of humanity.”
City Red Crescent Secretary Golam Baki Masud presided over the function, while Executive Council members Dr. Farhanaz Mabud Silvi, Ziaul Haque Sohel, City Youth Red Crescent Chief A. N. M. Tamjid, and Head of Disaster and Humanitarian Response Department Md. Rakibul Isla
