According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the seminar was graced by the presence of National Board of Revenue (NBR) Member (Customs: Audit, Modernization and International Trade) Dr Md Al Amin Pramanik, who served as the chief guest. He stressed the importance of efficient tax collection for the country’s economic strength and called on citizens to see VAT payment as a duty to enhance government revenue. He also remarked on the vital role taxpayers play in national building and the necessity of maintaining good relations between service providers and recipients to foster a culture of tax payment.

Dr Pramanik further recognized the significant contributions of businessmen to the economic development of Bangladesh and urged them to ensure timely deposition of VAT collected on behalf of the government to the treasury.

In his concluding remarks, Arun Kumar Biswas noted that all citizens contribute to government revenue through VAT and income tax, directly or indirectly. He emphasized raising public awareness to combat VAT and income tax evasion and urged all stakeholders to pay VAT regularly for the nation’s greater development.
