CHT Affairs Minister Pays Homage to Language Martyrs

Chittagong hill tracts: CHT Affairs Minister Dipen Dewan today paid rich tributes to the Language Martyrs on the occasion of great Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day. In the first hour of the day, he placed a wreath at the Central Shaheed Minar in the capital. Talking to reporters after laying the wreath, the minister emphasized the significance of the day in inspiring the nation to stand firm against injustice and oppression. He remarked, “Language is not just a medium of communication; it is the foundation of our culture, identity, and national consciousness.”



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the minister further stated that the government remains committed to preserving, practising, and promoting the mother tongues of all ethnic communities across the country, including those in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. In a multilingual and multicultural Bangladesh, Dipen Dewan called for unity in mutual respect and communal harmony. He encouraged collective efforts to advance the country’s development.



The event was attended by cabinet members, senior government officials, and people from all walks of life, who gathered to honor the sacrifices made by the Language Martyrs.
