Chinese Ambassador Meets Deputy Speaker to Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

Dhaka: Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen paid a courtesy call on Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Barrister Kayser Kamal at his office at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban today. During the meeting, the Deputy Speaker highlighted China’s role as one of Bangladesh’s key development partners, emphasizing the impact of Chinese technology in various sectors such as agriculture, health, and information technology.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Deputy Speaker stressed the importance of simplifying the process for Bangladeshi students seeking higher education in China. He also mentioned stepping down from his party position to maintain the neutrality of the Deputy Speaker’s office and expressed hope for constructive participation from the opposition to enhance the effectiveness of the parliament.



Ambassador Yao Wen noted the steady growth of bilateral cooperation between China and Bangladesh. He acknowledged the Communist Party of China’s recognition of the BNP as a democratic party and praised its leadership’s contributions to Bangladesh’s development. The ambassador extended an invitation to the Deputy Speaker to visit China.



The meeting covered various bilateral issues, focusing on enhancing cooperation in education, health, and technology sectors. Both parties exchanged goodwill mementos as a gesture of continued friendship.



Senior officials from the Chinese Embassy and concerned officials of the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat attended the meeting.
