China Ambassador Cup Wushu Championship Kicks Off in Dhaka

Dhaka: The two-day 7th China Ambassador Cup Wushu Championship commenced today at the Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in the capital. The event is hosted by the Bangladesh Wushu Federation (BWF) and was officially inaugurated by Selim Fakir, Additional Secretary (Sports-1 Division) of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the opening ceremony was graced by special guests Prof Yang Qiangquan, Dean of the School of Physical Education at Yunnan Minzu University in Kunming, China, and Kazi Nazrul Islam, Executive Director of the National Sports Council. Major General ASM Ridwanur, President of the BWF, presided over the ceremony.

The BWF's founding General Secretary, Dildar Hasan Dilu, and Chairman of the Federation's Technical Committee, SM Shahidul Haque Bhuiyan, also addressed attendees during the inauguration. Seventeen teams, including those from Bangladesh Army, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan (BKSP), and various districts, are competing in the championship.

On the first day, athletes showcased an array of Wushu exercises and demonstrations, highlighting their skills. The competition is set to conclude tomorrow with a closing ceremony.
