Gobindaganj: A child's body was recovered from the Bangali River near the Bishpukur area under Gobindaganj upazila this afternoon. The victim has been identified as Tania, the daughter of Tazinur Rahman, a resident of the area.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, local sources reported that Tania, along with her companions, went to the river to bathe in the morning and unfortunately drowned. Despite initial search efforts, her body was not located immediately as it was swept downstream by the river's current.
Upon being informed, divers from Rangpur conducted a search operation and eventually discovered the body downstream in the afternoon. The incident has cast a somber mood over the community.
Atitul Islam, the officer in charge of the Gobindaganj Fire Service and Civil Defense station, confirmed the incident. He has urged parents and guardians to exercise greater caution regarding their children's safety around water bodies.
