Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus Engages in Strategic Talks with Azerbaijan President at COP29 Summit.

Baku: Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today met Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev at the COP29 climate summit venue in Baku, capital of Azerbaijan. During the meeting, they discussed issues of mutual interest, according to a message received here.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the discussion highlighted potential areas for collaboration between Bangladesh and Azerbaijan. The dialogue comes on the heels of a meeting between Non-Resident Ambassador of Azerbaijan Elchin Huseynli and Professor Yunus, where the ambassador emphasized the importance of strengthening trade relations between the two nations. This meeting, which took place on October 22, underscored Azerbaijan’s interest in exploring new business opportunities and avenues for economic cooperation.

Ambassador Huseynli also expressed Azerbaijan’s interest in establishing an air services agreement with Bangladesh, aiming to facilitate better connectivity and enhance bilateral trade. This initiative aligns with Azerbaijan’s broader str
ategy to open doors for more businesses and foster international partnerships.

The chief adviser is scheduled to return home at 8 pm today after concluding his state visit to Baku, where he participated in the global climate conference, “Conference of Parties-29 (COP29).” This information was confirmed by Chief Adviser’s Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder to BSS.
