Dhaka: Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today condemned the recent terrorist attack in India’s Kashmir, which resulted in the death of at least 26 people. He expressed his deep condolences for those who lost their lives in the attack.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in a message posted on his Facebook page, Prof Yunus stated: “Excellency: Please accept my deepest condolences over the loss of life resulting from the terrorist attack that took place in Kashmir’s Phalgam.” He further emphasized, “We strongly condemn this heinous act. Let me reaffirm Bangladesh’s resolute stand against terrorism.”
Armed men launched an attack on a group of tourists in Indian-administered Kashmir, leading to the tragic deaths. Indian police reported that the incident occurred on Tuesday when the tourists were visiting Baisaran meadow, approximately 5 kilometers from the resort town of Pahalgam, in the disputed region. Multiple tourists suffered gunshot wounds during this “terror attack,” highlighting the ongoing tensions in the area.
