Dhaka: Amir of Islamic Andolan Bangladesh Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, also known as Charmonai Pir, has greeted the newly elected office bearers of the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Charmonai Pir expressed his congratulations in a message, highlighting the significance of the DUCSU election results as a victory for Islam. He stated that the election has sparked hope and aspiration among the populace regarding the forthcoming national polls.
Charmonai Pir emphasized that the outcome of the DUCSU elections could influence the national elections, reflecting the deep-rooted tradition and culture of religious devotion in Bangladesh. He noted that the election has provided an opportunity for citizens to vote freely, independently, and impartially.
Mufti Rezaul Karim remarked that the nation had been distanced from a culture of elections for a significant period, and the younger generation had not previously experienced the voting process. In this context, he believes the DUCSU polls have instilled a sense of hope among the people.
He extended his gratitude to the Dhaka University authorities, students, and the interim government for their role in successfully conducting the DUCSU elections. Additionally, he congratulated all candidates who participated in the election, whether from various panels or as independents.
