Dhaka: The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) has recommended approval for two significant procurement proposals, including a project aimed at enhancing the IT infrastructure at Customs House in Chattogram. This decision was made during a meeting held at the Bangladesh Secretariat, chaired by Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the first proposal involves additional supplies under Package-6 (Lot-1) for the relocation, reinstallation, and commissioning of the existing Modular Data Centre (MDC), Local Area Network (LAN), network infrastructure, and related IT infrastructure at Customs House, Chattogram, ensuring service continuity. The initial contract value was set at Tk 8.68 crore, and with the proposed variation of Tk 2.24 crore, the revised contract value now stands at Tk 10.92 crore. Spectrum Engineering Consortium Ltd has been recommended as the contractor for this additional supply. This proposal was submitted by the Internal Resources Division under the Ministry of Finance.
In addition, the CCGP has also recommended the approval of a re-tender for Package No. WP-06 of the project titled 'Upgrading roads connecting Lakshmipur, Noakhali, and Feni districts with the National Special Economic Zone to appropriate standards'. This project falls under the Feni Road Division of the Cumilla Road Zone. The tender package is identified as ADP/NSEZ/OSTETM/FRD/WP-06/2025-2026, with Tender ID-1245668. This proposal was put forward by the Road Transport and Highways Division and involves reprocessing the tender, which the committee has recommended for approval.
