Chattogram: Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) evicted more than 45 unauthorized shops and establishments in the vicinity of Chattogram Medical College Hospital during a drive conducted today. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, CCC officials stated that the illegal structures had long occupied sidewalks and drains, causing serious inconvenience to pedestrians and hampering drainage. This longstanding issue prompted the city corporation to take decisive action in order to reclaim public space and improve urban management.
As part of the operation, seven individuals were fined a total of Taka 6,500 for placing goods on the footpaths, thereby obstructing pedestrian movement. The CCC emphasized its commitment to maintaining public order and ensuring that public pathways remain accessible to all citizens.
