Dhaka: Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) today conducted a dengue prevention drive in the city, focusing on mosquito breeding grounds, littering, and the improper storage of construction materials on roads. The drive, spearheaded by CCC Executive Magistrate Chaiti Sarvabidya and Regional Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Moumita Das, took place in the Brickfield Road and Ashraf Ali Road areas of Patharghata.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the team inspected roof gardens of residential buildings and construction sites to identify potential mosquito breeding grounds. They also evaluated stagnant water in drains beneath houses and construction materials left on roads. During the drive, three individuals were fined a total of Tk 11,000 for various violations.
In addition to imposing fines, the CCC distributed awareness leaflets among local residents to educate them on dengue prevention and mosquito control measures. The initiative is part of an ongoing effort to combat the spread of dengue in the area by addressing key factors contributing to mosquito proliferation.
