Dhaka: The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued local cautionary Signal No. 3 for all maritime ports across the country. This advisory affects the ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra, urging them to hoist Signal No. 3 (R3) as a precautionary measure.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the special bulletin released by the BMD advises all fishing boats and trawlers operating over the North Bay to return to the coast and exercise caution until further notice. The bulletin highlights potential adverse weather conditions influenced by a well-marked low over the west-central Bay and adjoining areas.
The advisory warns that heavy to very heavy rain, accompanied by gusty or squally winds, may impact maritime ports, the North Bay, and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh. The BMD’s cautionary signal aims to ensure the safety of maritime activities and coastal operations as weather conditions continue to evolve.
